Value lies in clarity of the path, honor the path and respect the teacher, fulfill the role of disciple, and never stray from the path of Chan Wu: 1. Focus on cultivation, diligently advancing equally in Chan and martial arts, without bias or preference. 2. Honor the teacher and respect the path. Recognize expertise in specific fields, and do not belittle seniors based on age, status, or wealth. 3. Acknowledge the difficulty of others' contributions, cultivate gratitude, and do not hesitate to reciprocate with resources and effort. 4. Exploiting advantages binds one to material desires, hindering liberation. 5. Detach from circumstances, avoid complaints, and embrace tranquility amidst hardship. 6. Practice is not indulgence; therefore, avoid craving tasty food, comfortable lodging, or easy living, which dull the spirit and breed conflict. 7. Refrain from idle talk, gossip, falsehoods, abusive speech, divisive speech, or flattery. 8. Match words with actions, uphold promises, refrain from deceit, self-deception, or deceiving others. 9. Avoid laziness and frivolity, and do not indulge in play or amusement. 10. Show respect to fellow disciples, abstain from worldly disputes, and introspect on personal faults. 11. Disciples must diligently practice self-discipline, set an example with their conduct, and wholeheartedly engage in cultivation. 12. Those who violate rules should accept appropriate punishment, reflect inwardly without resentment. Cultivate through diligence, serve wholeheartedly, Courage and introspection lead the way, Dedication in daily life is paramount, Right view in action is wisdom, Right livelihood is the path, Endure afflictions for enlightenment, Liberation comes from non-attachment to disputes, Maintain stability in adversity, Approach others with compassion, Respect elders and nurture humility, Interact with sincerity and grace. |
